KG-2 / KG-3 Fast-Drying Rust Preventive Oil for Steel, Copper & Aluminum
General-purpose fast-drying protection for carbon and alloy steels: 1–2 years, 2–3 years with plastic-bag packing.

- Protection period
- 1–2 years (2–3 years with plastic-bag packing)
- Humidity test (40 °C)
- 500 h
- Salt spray test
- 48 h (steel)
- Flash point
- 62 °C
KG-2 and KG-3 give excellent rust protection on low-, medium- and high-carbon steels and on alloy steels containing manganese, vanadium, chromium and molybdenum. KG-2 is deep brown; KG-3 is light yellow.
According to the KG-3 technical data sheet, the product combines imported rust-inhibiting additives with a volatile solvent. Once the solvent evaporates, a dense film remains that resists humidity and salt spray and does not cause yellow staining. The same sheet states that the oil is not classified as a hazardous chemical and meets EU restricted-substance requirements.
Key benefits
- 1–2 years of protection; 2–3 years with plastic-bag packing
- Dense, thin film once the solvent evaporates
- KG-3 stays light yellow and resists yellowing
- Dip, spray or brush; dipping is the most economical and reliable method
Typical applications
- Low-, medium- and high-carbon steel parts
- Alloy steel parts (Mn, V, Cr, Mo)
- Steel, cast iron and copper parts across industries (per KG-3 TDS)

Application method
How to use
- Parts must be clean and free of water before treatment.
- Let surplus oil drain and the film dry completely before packing.
- Do not spin-dry, do not apply with a rag, and do not oil parts hotter than 40 °C.
