Applications

Rust Protection for Marine & Offshore Environments

Salt accelerates corrosion. Marine conditions call for durable films, covered storage and sealed packing.

Challenges

What puts metal at risk

Corrosion in this sector rarely has a single cause. These are the conditions we see most often.

Salt-laden air

Chlorides break down thin films and attack bare metal.

Condensation in transit

Temperature cycling forms condensation inside the packing.

Long exposure

Voyages and layovers last weeks to months.

Heavy equipment

Large parts need films applied by brush or spray.

Handling damage

Films must tolerate bumps and rubbing.

Inspection

Films should be easy to inspect and renew.

Frequently asked questions

Which oil resists salt spray best?

Among the standard grades, KG-2C / KG-3C and KG-8 list 96 h of salt spray on steel, and KG-9 lists 100+ h as a thick wax film.

Is the film suitable for outdoor storage?

Covered storage is recommended; KG-9 resists sunlight aging.

Do you hold marine certifications?

Contact us with your project requirements and we will confirm which documents are available.

How is KG-9 applied?

Heat to 90 °C and brush on; the film sets as it cools.

Can I run a trial for a specific voyage?

Yes — request a sample and describe the route.
