Applications

Rust Protection for Machinery & Equipment

Machine builders need protection that survives assembly, commissioning delays and long transport. MOERY offers films for every stage.

Challenges

What puts metal at risk

Corrosion in this sector rarely has a single cause. These are the conditions we see most often.

Long idle periods

Equipment can wait months between factory acceptance and commissioning.

Large surfaces

Large parts are hard to dip, so films must be brushable or sprayable.

Precision surfaces

Bearings, guideways and shafts cannot tolerate pitting.

Electrical steels

Motor and transformer laminations need dedicated protection.

Handling

Films must survive crating, lifting and installation.

Removal

Films should clean off before final assembly.

MOERY solutions

Matching the grade to the part

Start with the part and the process; the grade follows.

Part / situationRecommended gradeWhy
Large equipment prepared for exportKG-1Approx. 20 µm film, 2–4+ years
Heavy castings and large partsKG-9Thick wax film, resists sunlight aging
Precision parts in long storageKG-83–5 years, non-tacky surface
Motor stators, rotors, transformer coresKG-2AFormulated for electrical steel
Steel gears, shafts, bearings (in-process)KG-2 / KG-3General-purpose fast-drying film

Frequently asked questions

How do I protect large equipment for export?

KG-1 (approx. 20 µm film, 2–4+ years) is intended for large equipment and precision components; KG-9 suits heavy parts.

Can I brush the oil on large parts?

Yes. KG-1, KG-2 / KG-3 and KGY grades support brushing; KG-9 is brushed hot at 90 °C.

What protects motor laminations?

KG-2A is the electrical steel grade for stators, rotors and transformer cores.

Should parts also be bagged?

For multi-year storage or sea freight we recommend sealed plastic packing in addition to the film.

Can the oil be removed before commissioning?

Yes, with solvent or alkaline cleaners depending on the grade.
